NEW YORK, NY — The NYPD Sergeants Benevolent Association (SBA), representing thousands of New York City police sergeants, today announced its endorsement of Saritha Komatireddy for New York State Attorney General, citing her commitment to public safety, accountability, and supporting the men and women of law enforcement.
The endorsement marks another significant show of support from New York’s law enforcement community for Komatireddy, a former federal prosecutor who has made combating violent crime, holding repeat offenders accountable, and strengthening public safety central priorities of her campaign.
“The Sergeants Benevolent Association is proud to stand unequivocally behind Saritha Komatireddy for New York State Attorney General. New York needs an Attorney General who will stand shoulder to shoulder with the men and women who risk their lives to protect our communities, enforce the law fairly, and ensure that those who commit crimes are held accountable. Our members put themselves in harm’s way every day, and they deserve an Attorney General who respects their service, supports their mission, and never loses sight of the victims and families who depend on our justice system. The Attorney General’s office must be a strong partner to law enforcement—not an obstacle to the officers on the front lines. We need leadership that demands accountability, upholds the rule of law, and restores public confidence in our justice system. The stakes are too high for anything less. The SBA is proud to endorse Saritha Komatireddy and looks forward to working with her to make New York safer for everyone.”

Komatireddy welcomed the endorsement, emphasizing the need for an Attorney General who works alongside law enforcement rather than undermining their efforts to protect New Yorkers.
“I am honored to receive the endorsement of the NYPD Sergeants Benevolent Association and the men and women who put their lives on the line every day to keep New Yorkers safe,” said Saritha Komatireddy. “Our police officers deserve an Attorney General who respects their service, supports their work, and holds criminals accountable. For too long, Letitia James has put politics ahead of public safety. As Attorney General, I will be a partner to law enforcement and make sure the rule of law means something again in New York.”
The SBA endorsement adds to Komatireddy’s growing coalition of law enforcement supporters, including sheriffs, police associations, corrections officers, and former NYPD Commissioner Ray Kelly.
