NEW YORK, NY — Following Thursday night’s debate, Republican candidate for New York Attorney General Saritha Komatireddy today challenged incumbent Attorney General Letitia James to participate in additional debates before the November 3 election.

Komatireddy argued that the debate highlighted fundamental differences between the candidates on public safety, repeat offenders, Medicaid fraud, homelessness, and the priorities of the Attorney General’s Office.

“Thursday night’s debate made the differences between Letitia James and me crystal clear,” said Komatireddy. “New Yorkers deserve more than one opportunity to hear us defend our records, explain our positions, and answer tough questions about the future of this state. I am ready to debate Letitia James again, anywhere in New York, anytime before Election Day. The question is whether she is willing to do the same.”

Komatireddy called on James to agree to additional televised debates, including opportunities to address voters outside New York City.

“Letitia James has had nearly eight years to make her case to New Yorkers. She should have no problem spending another hour defending her record,” Komatireddy continued. “I welcome the tough questions. And I welcome every opportunity to explain exactly what I will do differently as Attorney General. Let’s have more debates and let New Yorkers hear from both of us.”
