New York – The New York State Correctional Officers & Police Benevolent Association (NYSCOPBA) has endorsed Republican candidate Saritha Komatireddy for New York Attorney General, adding the support of New York’s correctional officers to the growing coalition of law enforcement backing her campaign.
NYSCOPBA represents thousands of correction officers and law enforcement professionals who work on the front lines of New York’s correctional system, protecting their fellow officers, incarcerated individuals, and communities across the state.
“I am deeply honored to earn the endorsement of the New York State Correctional Officers & Police Benevolent Association,” said Saritha Komatireddy. “Correction officers take on one of the most demanding and dangerous jobs in law enforcement, and their work is essential to keeping our state safe. Earning the support of the men and women who serve on the front lines means a great deal to me. As Attorney General, they will have a partner who respects their service, understands the challenges they face, and works to make state prisons safer for both inmates and staff.”
The NYSCOPBA endorsement adds to Komatireddy’s growing support from law enforcement organizations across New York, including the New York State Troopers PBA, the Buffalo PBA, and the Rochester Police Locust Club.
Komatireddy is a former federal prosecutor in the Eastern District of New York and former Chief of Staff at the Drug Enforcement Administration. During her career, she prosecuted terrorists, cybercriminals, murderers, and international drug cartels leaders. She is running for Attorney General on a platform focused on the safety of New Yorkers and will use the authorities and resources of the AG’s office to lock up repeat offenders, build residential treatment centers for the homeless, and root out fraud, making New York safer and more affordable.
