NEW YORK – “Tuesday’s primaries made two things clear: 
New Yorkers want new leaders. They are tired of the old guard, the ones responsible for an unaffordable and unsafe state.  

But the leaders the Democratic Party is offering are radicals. Activists who want to get rid of police and prisons, seize private property, and support terrorism. Around the state, in New York City, Syracuse, and Buffalo, these candidates hold a view of public safety that is alarming, unsupported by data or experience, puts innocent people at risk, and would further unravel public safety in New York. 

Now more than ever, we need an Attorney General who is a law enforcement leader — a prosecutor who will ensure public safety, uphold law and order, and defend the rule of law, with professionalism and strength. A nonpartisan, who will protect every New Yorker, regardless of race, religion, or politics. We must keep the defund-the-police radicals in check, and the Attorney General must be the person to do so.  

The Attorney General can put criminals in jail, commit the mentally ill to treatment, house the homeless, clean up corruption, stop the seizure of private property, implement safe buffer zones around schools and houses of worship, and protect civil rights. The truth is, the Attorney General has more power to improve New Yorkers’ lives than any single mayor or legislator.

Letitia James does none of these things. She has had two terms as Attorney General and overseen a rise in crime, lawlessness, corruption, and naked partisanship. She has repeatedly sided with criminals over victims, allowed repeat offenders back on the streets, and allowed self-dealing in Albany to go unchecked. A career politician for nearly 30 years, she has wasted our taxpayer money to pursue personal vendettas and political ambitions.

It is time to turn the page. Given this week’s results, it’s a necessity.

We need an Attorney General who is focused on keeping us safe. 

For New Yorkers, this is not theoretical. It is existential. The choice of Attorney General will make the difference between whether you, your family, and your property are safe. It is the first and last line of defense against far-left extremism.”
