“New York has safe buffer zone laws on the books. It needs an Attorney General who will enforce them. As the holiest day of the year in the Jewish calendar (Yom Kippur) approaches, during a time when tensions are running high and antisemitic hate crimes are skyrocketing in New York City, I would establish safe buffer zones around every Jewish school and synagogue now.

An AG can do that. NY Civil Rights Law § 79-m says so.

Just last month, congregants at a synagogue in Manhattan were attacked by an intruder. We should not wait for the next attack to protect Jewish New Yorkers.”
